While doing something entirely unrelated (OK! So I was on Ravelry again!), I found this cool map that charts how many states you have visited. I was surprised to see that I am at 23 states, though nowhere close to my parents who have visited 48.
visited 23 states (46%)

Lucky for me that I live in the Northeast. You can knock off quite a few states just by driving from New Jersey to Maine. Wondering about South Dakota there all by its lonesome? That is thanks to my big firm lawyering days, wherein I (and a bunch of other lawyers) flew into South Dakota, took a deposition, and flew back, all in one very long workday. Primo was only a few months old, so I had to haul a giant breastpump there and back, in the days before they came disguised in a chic briefcase-like bag, and find a place to pump in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport, in the days before rooms were set aside for such things. Good times.

Kris...I'm Beth's daughter. She thought you might be knitting Fetching, so I looked, and you're on ravelry! I'm Saille, if you'd like to friend me.
ReplyDeleteYou can come visit us and check Texas off your list....and we're only an hour south of Oklahoma...two for the price of one.....
ReplyDeleteOh, and I had 36.....I'm missing Maine and everything north of Colorado from the Pacific Coast to the Great Lakes.
ReplyDelete36 blows my 23 out of the water! I would love to come see you and getting two more states would be an added bonus. When he was little my oldest wanted to visit Texas in the worst way. I think it was because of Sandy on Spongebob.
ReplyDeleteI have been in 43 (OK, we have lived in many of those!), but Frank is the winner - he has 48 (only lacks Hawaii and North Dakota). He has kept track of our girls' states since they were little. How scary to know others do the same! Sarah's mom :>)
ReplyDeleteI'm only at 25. Most of those because at 16, my parents stuck me on a 6 week coast to coast teen bus tour trip. It was excellent. A number of others were due to some business travel before I gave my lawyering days too. I had to smile, I had a in-out same day trip from NJ to Fargo, ND for a two hour meeting.
ReplyDeleteCool map. I've been more places than I thought!
